Sensei Adrian Clarkson, Nidan

Sensei Adrian Clarkson was born in Duncan B.C. in 1984. When he was seven he moved to Nanaimo with his family. At age eight he was given the opportunity to pursue his growing interest in the Martial Arts. After checking out various clubs his mother enrolled him in the Shima Karate School in Nanaimo under Sensei Kurt Nordli. Adrian graduated from N.D.S.S. in 2003 and earned his Shodan the same year. Adrian was awarded his Nidan in 2006.
After helping at the dojo for the years leading up to his Nidan he decided that his ideal occupation would be to run a dojo under the Shima umbrella.
In September 2007 Adrian is reopening Shima Karate School in Parksville. As well as teaching karate Adrian works as a Shipper / Receiver and International Customs Expert at Inuktun Services Ltd.
It is Sensei Clarkson’s goal to pass on the same high standards of traditional Goju Ryu Karate that he has learned from his Sensei as well as the principles of respect, honor and dignity that has helped shape his life.
