O'Sensei Kim - "His Life"

Joe Dixon

Joe Dixon was born in Nanaimo, B.C. in 1987. As a young child, he was always intrigued by martial arts films and demonstrations, but had never thought to enrole within any sort of school.

At the age of 5 or 6 he did though practice within a children's self defense course, but without given ranks, this was only for a brief period of time. February of 2001 is when his actual martial arts training began. He had got the idea from his best friend, in which then he enrolled within Shima Karate "Lantzville," the following week.

Over the years, as he progressed through the ranks he gradually came into becoming an assistant instructor and was given numerous opportunities to be incharge of his own classes of all ages, at the times when needed.

Joe had received the rank of Shodan on August 3rd. 2006 and still continues his training under the tutelage of Sensei Brian Maximchuk.
