Shodan-ho 2014

Shodan 2015

I was born in Nanaimo B.C. and have always lived here. I presently attend Dover Bay Secondary School.

My Grandparents enrolled me in Karate when I was 7 years old. As a very active and high energy child they thought the discipline of this sport would be a good fit for me. From my very first class I knew I had found something good to focus my energies on. I also have enjoyed meeting new people and interacting with peers who have similar interests.

I have participated and been awarded medals in Vancouver Island Karate Competitions and also in competitions at the B.C. Provincials.

I have enjoyed doing weapons training along with my regular training in Karate. Lacrosse is another sport that I have played competitively for the past 10 years. As a goalie I aided my team in winning the Gold Medal in the 2013 Vancouver Island Playoffs. We then went on to win the Silver Medal in the 2013 B.C. Provincial Playoffs.

I enjoy camping and also participate recreationally in skiing, snowboarding and archery with a compound bow.

My time in Karate has taught me patience, respect and discipline. It has given me physical fitness training and the ability to defend myself if necessary. The best defense is to walk away from confrontation.
