2013 IKGA World Champion - Girls 16/17 Kumite
In 2013 Bernadette Alvarez became the first Canadian to win a gold medal at the
6th Gojukai World Championships that was held in Mumbai India
She also achieved a silver medal in Kata
2017 IKGA World Champion - Girls 16/17 Kumite
In 2017 Amelia Cooper became the Second Canadian to win a gold medal at the
7th Gojukai World Championships held at the Olympic Oval in Richmond BC
Shima Karate School also earned 2 silver medals and 13 bronze medals at this event
