Logan Burke

I was born in Nanaimo B.C. and have always lived here. I currently attend Dover Bay Secondary for schooling and I am going into my grade 12 year.

I frst started karate when I was 6 years old and still love it till this very day. I started at the Lantzville dojo with Sensei Maimchuk and immediately fell in love with it. Afer a couple of years passed by the dojo had to relocate but thankfully not very far away.

Then a while later Sensei Maximchuk was forced to close down the Lantzville Shima dojo and I was given the option to either stop or move on to a new dojo. Looking back, deciding not to stop was one of my best decisions I have ever made in life as I still enjoy karate to this day.

Karate for me was also a great way of meeting peers who are like minded and has given me the opportunity to make many new friendships that I never would have gotten the chance to make if I had not enrolled in karate.

To me doing karate is something that I really enjoy and has been very benefcial to my life in many ways. Physically it is my source of exercise and has kept me fit throughout the years as I don't do other sports. Mentally it has taught me great amounts of discipline and respect. And socially it has given me the chances to make new friends who I will soon not forget.
