Sensei Scott Zmaeff

Sandan-ho

Scott was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. At the age of 2 his family moved to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island where he was raised. He first started training at Shima Karate School at 7 years old.

In 2004, Scott broke a mirror which ironically opened the door to his future. He made a promise to Sensei Nordli and Sensei Brenda that he would pay back the broken mirror by helping out with classes. After which he has never stopped helping. Scott continued to teach at Shima Karate School for many years, where he helped with all the kids, teens, and weapons classes and loved doing so.

Scott attained his Shodan-Ho in Goju-Ryu and Shodan in Butoku-Kai Kobudo in 2010 following up with Full Shodan in 2012 under the IKGA.

Scott graded for and passed his Sandan-ho grading in 2017 and is now considered a Sensei in the organization.
